Ingredients:

• 2 to 2 3/4 cups – Mixed grains (Kabuli Channa, Whole Green Gram, Dry Green Peas, Lentils and Rajma beans) soaked for about 10 hours in water
• 3 Onions, chopped into small pieces
• 4 Tomatoes, ripe and red, chopped into small pieces
• 15 tbsps – Oil
• 1 tbsp – Butter
• 1/2 tbsp – Jeera
• Required amount – Salt
• Required amount – Sugar
• To Grind:
• 1 cup – finely grated fresh Coconut
• 6 Cashews
• 1tbsp – Khuskus
• 1 tbsp – Dhania
• 5 Dry Red Chillies
• 3 Green chillies
• 1 tbsp- Dhania
• 1 tbsp- Garam Masala

Method:

  1. Cook soaked mixed grains in cooker till it steams well. Don’t use weight. Use less water.
  2. Season jeera in butter and oil (mixed) in a pan. Add onions. Fry till golden.
  3. Add tomatoes. Add cooked grains, ground masala, salt and sugar. Fry till oil separates from this pulp.
  4. Add required amount of water as per desired thickness of gravy.
  5. Serve this kurma with hot puris or chappathis.
