Ingredients:

• 1 cup – moong dal (split green gram dal), wash and soak for 1 hours
• 1 tbsp – rava (semolina)
• 1 cup – grated Doodhi (bottle gourd)
• 4 to 5 – Green chillies
• 1/4 cup – coriander leaves, chopped
• 1 inch piece -ginger, grated
• 1/4 tsp – soda bicarb
• 1 tbsp – oil
• To taste – salt

Method:

  1. Wash and drain moong dal.
  2. Grind soaked moong dal, ginger and green chillies.
  3. Add all other ingredients and make a thick batter.
  4. Add a little more rava, if batter is not thick.
  5. Heat waffle iron and pour 1 ladleful of mixture in centre.
  6. Close and allow to cook, till done.
  7. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
