
Ingredients:
• Chicken or Mutton (boneless) – 500 gms
• Large onion, chopped – 1
• Garlic Cloves – 2
• Coconut Milk (optional) – 1 cup
• Chicken stock/stock cubes dissolved in 2 cups of water – 2 cups
• Lemon juice – 2 tsp
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Salt to taste
• Make paste of:
• Ginger – 1
• Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Poppy Seeds – 1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
• Peppercorns – 10
• Red Chilli (dry) or to taste – 6
• Lemon wedges to garnish
• Boiled Rice for garnish (optional)
Method:
- Clean and boil the chicken or mutton until tender.
- Blend into puree, adding water as required. Strain.
- Heat oil. Add onions and garlic and saute until golden brown.
- Add the paste and saute for 1 min.
- Pour the strained soup alongwith chicken stock and coconut milk and bring to a boil.
- Sprinkle lemon juice and serve hot.
- Garnished with rice and lemon wedges.
