
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Bengal Gram (chana dal), soaked in water for 2 hours
• 1/2 coconut, cut into small pieces
• 10 Raisins
• 2/3 Green chillies
• Oil as needed
• Salt to taste
• For garam masala:
• 2 Bay Leaves
• 1 tsp – ground Red Chillies
• 2.5 cm Ginger
• 1 tsp – Cumin seed powder
Method:
- Boil the dal with salt till tender.
- Each grain of the dal must be soft and separate. Heat oil.
- Add the garam masala and pour over the dal.
- Fry small cubes of coconut and put in the dal.
- Add the raisins and 2-3 slit green chillies.
- Simmer till well done.
- Serve with puris.
