Ingredients:

• Cashew nuts – 150 gm
• button Mushrooms – 200 gm
• oil – 3 tbsp
• Onion – 1 cup, chopped
• chili powder – 1 tsp
• coriander powder – ½ tsp
• Asafoetida – ½ tsp
• ready to use Tamarind pulp – 1 tsp
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak cashew nuts for 4-6 hours.
  2. Add 1 cup of water and simmer till cooked.
  3. Meanwhile, cut mushrooms into quarters.
  4. Heat oil and fry onions till light brown.
  5. Add all the powders, fry for 30 seconds.
  6. Add mushrooms. Sprinkle with little salt.
  7. Cover and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  8. Add tamarind pulp, cooked cashew nuts and salt.
  9. Simmer without covering till the gravy thickens and coats the mushrooms and cashew nuts.
  10. Place filling on chapatti or paratha, sprinkle with some chopped tomato and coriander leaves, roll up and serve.
