Ingredients:

• 3/4 cup – Butter
• 3/4 cup – ground Sugar
• 3 eggs
• 5 tbsp – powdered Almonds
• 1&1/4 cup – flour (maida)
• 1/4 cup – Milk
• 2 pears, peeled, sliced
• 2 tbsp – almonds, finely sliced
• For the custard:
• 2 tbsp – plain custard powder
• 4 tbsp – Sugar
• 2 tsp Ginger powder
• 2 tbsp – Butter

Method:

  1. Beat butter and sugar together till frothy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time.
  3. Add almond powder, flour and milk gradually to make a thick batter.
  4. Make custard by mixing powder with sugar and ginger.
  5. Add milk and mix well so that there are no lumps.
  6. Stir over heat till smooth and creamy.
  7. Add the butter.
  8. In a baking dish, pour the cooled custard.
  9. Arrange pears over.
  10. Pour cake batter on top and sprinkle sliced almonds.
  11. Bake in a medium oven till golden and moist.
  12. Serve with extra custard if you like (In that case, double the custard quantity)
