Ingredients:

• 1 cup – fine sevai
• 2 cups – water
• 5 to 6 – cashews, broken
• 3/4 cup – Sugar
• 5 – almonds, slivered
• 20 – Raisins
• 1/4 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 3 tbsp – Ghee

Method:

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy pan. Add the cashew and fry on low till light golden. Drain and keep aside.
  2. Fry raisins for 2-3 minutes, drain and keep aside.
  3. Add sevai, roast it till pinkish.
  4. Side by side, put water to boil. Add sugar and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Add boiling water to the sevai, a little at a time, stirring continuously.
  6. Add the remaining ingredients and cover and simmer till ghee separates.
  7. Save a small amount of almonds and raisins for the garnishing.
  8. Sprinkle cardamom powder and mix it.
  9. Garnish with almonds and raisins.
  10. Serve hot.
