Ingredients:
• Raw banana – 2 (about 300grams)
• Turmeric powder – 1/4tsp
• Green chillies – 4 nos
• Curry leaves – 1 sprig
• Salt – to taste
• Coconut Oil – 4 tbsp
• Water – 100ml (optional)
Method:
- Peel and slice plantain into 2 inch by 1/2inch batons. Immerse in water to avoid it from blackening.
- Clean and slit the green chillies lengthwise, de-seed if so required.
- Heat oil and deep fry on low flame, turning over occasionally, for 15-20 mins.
- To lessen the use of oil, boil plantain in water for 10mins. Now transfer to a pan in which the oil is hot, stir occasionally.
- While you are frying in oil add the remaining ingredients one by one, as and when you wish, allow to cook on low flame to achieve a crisp and crunchy texture.
