Ingredients:

• Raw banana – 2 (about 300grams)
• Turmeric powder – 1/4tsp
• Green chillies – 4 nos
• Curry leaves – 1 sprig
• Salt – to taste
• Coconut Oil – 4 tbsp
• Water – 100ml (optional)

Method:

  1. Peel and slice plantain into 2 inch by 1/2inch batons. Immerse in water to avoid it from blackening.
  2. Clean and slit the green chillies lengthwise, de-seed if so required.
  3. Heat oil and deep fry on low flame, turning over occasionally, for 15-20 mins.
  4. To lessen the use of oil, boil plantain in water for 10mins. Now transfer to a pan in which the oil is hot, stir occasionally.
  5. While you are frying in oil add the remaining ingredients one by one, as and when you wish, allow to cook on low flame to achieve a crisp and crunchy texture.
