
Ingredients:
• 1 cup gram flour
• 10-12 fresh large omam leaves, finely chopped
• 1 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
• 1 Onion finely chopped
• 2 Green chillies finely chopped
• 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
• 3-4 pinches Asafoetida
• salt to taste
• oil to deep fry
Method:
- Sprinkle a little salt on chopped onion. Keep aside for five minutes.
- Sprinkle gram flour, coriander and omam leaves over onions.
- Add all other ingredients, except oil for frying.
- Mix gently with hand.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and allow it to smoke lightly.
- Pour 1 tbsp oil over batter.
- Mix again, dropping small dumplings of dough into oil.
- Deep fry on medium-low heat till crisp and golden.
- Drain and place on absorbent kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with tamarind or green chutneys.
