Ingredients:

• 2 – Onions
• 2 – Tomatoes
• 9 – Garlic Cloves
• 1/2 tsp – pepper
• 3 to 4 – Green chillies
• 2 – Red Chillies
• Curry leaves, a few
• 1 cup – Coriander leaves
• 1/2 tsp – Urad Dal
• Tamarind – one small Lemon – sized ball
• Salt to taste
• Oil to fry

Method:

  1. Chop onion and tomato finely. Heat oil and temper urad dal. Then fry the onion till it turns a little brown.
  2. Add garlic, pepper, green chillies and red chillies. Mix well.
  3. Add tomato and fry for 3 minutes.
  4. Add tamarind, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  5. Add salt and fry well for another 2 minutes.
  6. Cool and grind the mixture into a fine paste.
  7. Heat a little oil and fry the mixture for 2 minutes.
  8. It is ready to serve with dosas, chapattis or plain hot rice.
