Ingredients:

• Orange peel – 1 cup
• Tamarind 4 cm ball
• Red Chillies 8 to 10
• mustard – 2 tsp
• black gram dal – 2 tsp
• Asafoetida a small piece
• oil – 1 tsp
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Take orange part of peel (discard the white part) and cut into pieces.
  2. Boil water, add the peel, give one boil and remove from fire. Drain.
  3. Roast red chillies, mustard, dal and asafetida with 1 tsp of oil.
  4. Grind them with tamarind.
  5. Add peel and grind.
  6. Add salt to taste.
  7. Serve as a dip or chutney.
