Ingredients:

• Broken basmathi Rice
• 1 cup – Sugar
• 2 cups – Milk
• 8 strands – Saffron

Method:

  1. Put all the ingredients together in a big pressure cooker.
  2. Bring to full pressure, then reduce heat and cook for 20 minutes.
  3. Remove cooker from heat and allow it to cool naturally.
  4. Place cooker on medium heat and cook until a creamy consistency is obtained, stirring constantly.
  5. Place the payasam (kheer) in serving dish.
  6. Serve hot or cold.
