
Ingredients:
• Palak – 1/2 kg, chopped
• Tur dal – 1/2 cup
• Coconut Milk – 1 cup
• Onion – 2, finely chopped
• Curry powder – 2 tsps
• Red Chilli powder – 2 tsps
• Coriander leaves
• Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
• Mustard and Cumin seeds – 1 tsp each
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Cook the palak and tur dal in a pressure cooker (about 2 whistles).
- In the meantime, heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan or vessel. Add the cumin and mustard seeds along with the curry leaves.
- Add the onions followed by ginger-garlic paste.
- Fry the onions until golden brown, then add coconut milk.
- Add a little turmeric, curry powder and red chilli powder based on your proportions.
- When the ingredients leave an aroma, add salt and let the gravy boil.
- Mix the palak-tuvar dal mixture to the gravy.
- Allow the preparation to cook well.
- Serve with rice or chapatti, garnished with coriander leaves.
