Ingredients:
• For bhaaji:
• 1 pack – mixed vegetables.
• 1 big Potato (peeled and cut in small pieces).
• 1 small can of Tomato puree.
• 1 big chopped onion.
• 2-3 tsp – paav-bhaji masala.
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder.
• oil or Butter to fry.
• salt to taste.
• For paav:
• Italian Bread.
• Butter.
• Oregano leaves.
• Crushed hot pepper|
Method:
- For the bhaji:
- Pressure cook vegetables, potatoes, turmeric powder and salt with water enough to soak everything. Wait for 5-6 whistles on med-high gas.
- On the side take some butter in a pan and add chopped onions and fry them golden.
- Add tomato puree and then add paav-bhaji masala. Cook for about 5 minutes.
- Drain the boiled vegetables and mash them with potato masher in the cooker itself.
- Add these boiled-mashed vegetables to puree. Cook for another 10 minutes. with constant mixing.
- Add some butter and bhaji is ready.
- For paav:
- Slice the Italian bread in half and heat it up in an oven for a minute so that it’s hot from the inner side. Spread butter on it and heat in the oven till it’s brown. Sprinkle some oregano leaves and crushed hot pepper and serve hot with bhaaji.
