Ingredients:

• French beans – 250 g
• Onion (big) – 1
• Salt and black pepper to taste
• A little oil

Method:

  1. Wash and string the beans. Slit each of them into half along the dividing line.
  2. Then chop both halves into 1.5 inch pieces.
  3. Slice the onions lengthwise.
  4. In a pan, add some oil and fry the onions.
  5. Then add the beans, salt and pepper and fry for a while.
  6. Sprinkle some water, cover, simmer the flame and cook till done.
  7. Serve hot with rice and dal.
