Ingredients:

• 2 cups – Urad Dal
• 2 to 3 tbsp – Rice
• 4-5 – Red Chillies
• 3-4 – Peppercorns
• Salt to taste
• A pinch Asafoetida
• Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Dry grind all the ingredients coarsely.
  2. Just before making the vadas, add water, a little at a time to get the right consistency for the batter.
  3. Add salt to taste, asafoetida and curry leaves.
  4. Make crisp vadas.
