
Ingredients:
• Juice from 1 Lime
• Rice – 1/2 cup
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• For seasoning:
• A few Curry leaves
• Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
• Urad Dal – 1 tsp
• Cashew nut – 4 to 5
• Peanuts – 1 tbsp
• Channa dal – 1 tsp
• Asafoetida – a pinch
• A small slice of Ginger
• Garlic – 2 flakes, chopped
• Oil
Method:
- Boil the rice ensuring that the grains are separate.
- Boil the peas with little salt.
- Grind grated coconut with coriander, garlic, ginger and green chillies into a fine paste.
- Heat the oil in a pan.
- Add the masala and fry until oil separates.
- Add the peas and cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove the rice in a large flat dish.
- Add salt, lime juice and masala to the rice and mix well.
- Serve with raita and papad.
