• 1 – green chilli, slit in the middle
• 3 to 4 tbsp – Jaggery
• a pinch – Haldi
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – salt
Method:
- Take the oil in a kadai. After you heat it well, put in the mustard.
- Once it splutters, add the green chilli and mango pieces to it.
- Fry it for a bit and add haldi and salt. Pour water to ensure the mango pieces are immersed.
- Decrease the flame and cover it till the mango pieces become very soft.
- Now add the jaggery and mix it well. Cover it once again.
- Add some water if the mixture is dry.
- After a few minutes the jaggery will dissolve and the mango pieces will be cooked in the syrup.
- It will become slightly thick.
- If it is very thick, add some more water as the dish will thicken more as it cools down.
- This can be had as a side dish for paratha, puri, idli, dosa or even bread.
