Ingredients:

• 1 small – Raw Mango – cut in pieces
• 1 – green chilli, slit in the middle
• 3 to 4 tbsp – Jaggery
• a pinch – Haldi
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – salt

Method:

  1. Take the oil in a kadai. After you heat it well, put in the mustard.
  2. Once it splutters, add the green chilli and mango pieces to it.
  3. Fry it for a bit and add haldi and salt. Pour water to ensure the mango pieces are immersed.
  4. Decrease the flame and cover it till the mango pieces become very soft.
  5. Now add the jaggery and mix it well. Cover it once again.
  6. Add some water if the mixture is dry.
  7. After a few minutes the jaggery will dissolve and the mango pieces will be cooked in the syrup.
  8. It will become slightly thick.
  9. If it is very thick, add some more water as the dish will thicken more as it cools down.
  10. This can be had as a side dish for paratha, puri, idli, dosa or even bread.
