Ingredients:

• 1 cup – parboiled Rice
• 1/4 cup – Beaten Rice
• 1-2 cups – sour Butter milk
• 1/4 tsp – cooking soda
• oil
• salt

Method:

  1. Soak washed rice and aval together in buttermilk overnight.
  2. Grind to a smooth batter, a little thinner than the regular idly dosa batter.
  3. Add salt and cooking soda and mix well.
  4. Heat a tawa and pour a ladle full of batter and drizzle oil; don’t spread the batter.
  5. Cook covered over a medium flame for a minute.
  6. Serve with a spicy chutney or sambhar.
