Ingredients:

• 1 kg – mackerel or pomfret, cut into 6 inch size pieces
• 3 tsp – chilli powder
• 3 tsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – Turmeric
• 3 tsp – Cream of Rice or Cream of Wheat
• 3 tbsp – Peanut oil
• Salt
• Fresh coriander for garnishing.

Method:

  1. Clean the fish well and add about 1/2 cup of plain salt to the fish and apply it all over the pieces and leave aside for about 45 minutes.
  2. Masala:
  3. Take red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder, cream of rice and a little salt on a baking sheet. Mix them well.
  4. Wash the fish and drain thoroughly.
  5. Smear the masala on both sides of the fish.
  6. Heat a frying pan and add peanut oil and fry the pieces on both sides covered till done.
