Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – rice.
• 125 gm – green gram (moong dal).
• 4 cups – yoghurt.
• 1 tbsp – cumin seeds.
• 2 tbsp – Ginger paste.
• 3 bunches – curry leaves.
• 3 – chillies.
• 2 tsp – pepper powder.
• 2 tbsp – ghee.
• salt.

Method:

  1. Wash and soak rice and moong dal for 30 minus. Add 4 cups of water to yogurt and mix well to make buttermilk.
  2. Add ghee to pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, curry leaves, chillies, ginger paste, pepper powder, salt.
  3. Now add drained rice, moong dal and buttermilk. Close the lid and cook up to 2 whistles.
  4. Now shift the cooker from flame and set aside until cool. Pongola rice is ready.
