
Ingredients:
• 225 g – Prawns
• 3 tbsp – grated Coconut
• 2 – green chillies, chopped
• 1/2 inch piece – ginger, chopped
• 6 – shallots, chopped
• 1/4 tsp – pepper powder
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tsp – Lemon juice
• 1 sprig – curry leaves, chopped
• 1/3 cup – breadcrumbs
• 200 ml – cooking oil (to Deep Fried)
Method:
- Wash, clean and devein prawns. Drain out water completely and wipe well with a kitchen towel.
- Transfer all the ingredients (except breadcrumbs and oil) to a mixer and pulse Do not add water when making paste. It should be a rough mixture.
- Divide the prawns mixture into 8 – 10 parts, make round balls, flatten it and roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan / kadai. Reduce the heat to medium and Deep Fried the flattened prawn tikkis until golden brown colour and crisp on both the sides .
- Drain out oil and place on kitchen towel to absorb extra oil.
- Serve as a starter.
