Ingredients:
• 450 g – fish
• 1 tsp – salt
• 1/2 tsp – – Turmeric powder
• 3 flakes – Garlic
• 3 slices – Ginger
• 25 g – Tamarind
• 50 ml – warm water
• 200 ml – water
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1 tsp – paprika powder
• 2 cm – Cinnamon stick
• 1/2 tsp – black pepper powder
• 6-7 – Curry leaves
• Oil
Method:
- Wash the fish and cut into 2-3 cm squares. Sprinkle with the salt and turmeric.
- Heat oil in a pan and place the fish on it. Saute for a couple of minutes.
- Crush the garlic and ginger together and keep aside.
- Soak and squeeze the tamarind in the warm water.
- Pour 375 ml water on the fish, add crushed garlic- ginger, tamarind water, chilli powder, paprika powder, cinnamon stick, black pepper and curry leaves.
- Cover the pan and simmer over a low heat until the fish is cooked.
