
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – short grain or rounded Rice
• 1/3 cup – coarsely broken vermicelli
• 2 tbsp – Ghee
• salt to taste
• 2 cups – hot water
Method:
- Wash rice in plenty of water.
- Soak in warm salted water for 30 minutes.
- Drain and keep aside in a sieve.
- Melt ghee in heavy pan. Add vermicelli.
- Stir gently till lightly browned.
- Add rice and stir gently again, till rice is coated with ghee.
- Add salt and hot water and bring to a boil.
- Cover and reduce heat and simmer till rice is cooked.
- Check in-between, adding more water if necessary.
- Rice should be fully cooked but not mushy.
- Serve hot with stew, etc.
