
Ingredients:
• 250 g – Raw Rice
• 50 g- Split Red Gram
• Half a cup – Coconut
• 2 to 3 – Green chillies
• Half tsp -Mustard seeds
• Half tsp -Split black gram
• Curry leaves
• 2 -Red chillies
• 2 or 3 -Onions (finely chopped)
• Coconut Oil (optional)
Method:
- Sprinkle little water on the rice and keep it aside for few minutes.
- When it has dried, grind it in a mixer coarsely.
- Soak split red gram in water for a few minutes and grind it with green chillies into paste.
- Heat oil, add mustard seeds, split black gram and red chillies.
- Add onions when it has been fried completely and water twice to the quantity of rice i.e. 1:2 ratio.
- Add scraped coconut, ground paste, salt and curry leaves.
- When water starts boiling add pounded rice and close the lid.
- After five minutes open the lid and stir again.
- After rice is cooked, add coconut oil.
