Ingredients:

• 1 – Plantain
• A bunch of Cilantro
• 3 or 4 – Green chillies
• 1 tbsp – Coriander seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• A pinch of Asafoetida
• 2 tsp – Oil
• Salt

Method:

  1. Wash plantain and wipe dry.
  2. Roast this on the stove directly on low flame until the skin gets roasted. Keep aside to cool.
  3. When the plantain cools, peel the skin and chop it into small pieces.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and roast green chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds well.
  5. Add these to a blender along with asafoetida and cilantro and grind well.
  6. To the above mixture, add the plantain pieces and grind to a smooth paste.
  7. Add little amount of water as needed.
  8. Add salt as required.
  9. Enjoy this delicious pickle with rice or chapattis.
