Ingredients:
• 2 cups -wheat
• 1 cup -whole green gram
• 1 cup- Rice
• 4 cup- Jaggery
• 1 tsp- dry Ginger powder
• 10 – 15 pieces -cardamom (elaichi) powder
• 1/2 -coconut cut into 1/2 inch pieces
Method:
- Roast wheat, gram and rice separately till they turn light brown on a low flame.
- Grind the three together into a fine powder and sieve them.
- Add jaggery in 1/2 cup of water, cook it to make a syrup. To ensure it is properly done test little syrup to see if it sinks in a cup of plain water, if yes then the syrup is done well.
- Remove the syrup from flame and add cardamom and dry ginger powder, sliced coconuts and 90 per cent of the fine powder.
- Roll this mixture into small balls of required size and roll them in the balance 10 per cent powder.
- Cool the balls, it is now ready to eat.
