Ingredients:

• Bread – 8 slices
• Onion – 1 finely chopped
• Tomato – 1
• Peas – 1 / 4 cup
• Beaten curds – 1 cup
• Mustard Seeds -1 tsp
• Curry leaves – 10 (chopped)
• Water in a wide bowl
• Salt as per taste
• Black pepper powder as per taste
• Turmeric powder – 1/3 tsp
• Ghee – 5 tsp

Method:

  1. Heat the kadhai and pour oil in it.
  2. When hot, splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves in it, add the chopped onion and stir fry till golden brown.
  3. When the onion is half done, add the peas and sprinkling a little sugar and water in it, cover for 2-3 minutes so that the peas are cooked.
  4. Meanwhile, remove the crust of the bread, soak the slices in water for 4-5 seconds and then drain out all the water carefully by pressing between both the palms.
  5. Crumble and add to the fried onions in the kadhai.
  6. Add salt, pepper powder and turmeric powder to the kadhai.
  7. Turn over the poha lightly in the kadhai and cover and cook on low heat for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the dahi (curd) to the poha and mix the poha well so that all the bread pieces are covered with curd.
  9. Lightly saute for 1-2 minutes, take off from the gas and cover for 2 minutes.
  10. Serve, garnished with coriander leaves.
