
Ingredients:
• 500 g – Paneer
• 3 cups – Tomato puree (diluted with 3 cups water)
• 1/2 cup – Ghee
• 2 tbsp – Onion paste (fried)
• 8 – green Cardamoms (choti elaichi)
• 4 – black Cardamoms (badi elaichi)
• 2 tsp – Turmeric (haldi) powder
• 1 or 2 tsp – chilli powder – (dissolved in 1 cup water)
• 4 – Cinnamon sticks
• 2 tsp – Ginger powder
• 1 tsp – Black cumin seeds (shah jeera)
• 2 tsp – dry Mint
• Garlic water
Method:
- Fry the paneer till golden brown. Drop into a bowl of cold water when done.
- Leave in the water for about 10 mins. Then discard the water.
- In a pan, add the tomato puree, garlic water, green cardamoms, black cardamoms, cinnamon sticks, turmeric powder, ginger powder, onion paste, ghee and red chilli water.
- Cook till the mixture is of a sauce-like consistency with the ghee separating from the sauce.
- Add the fried paneer. Cook until well blended with the sauce.
- Add the dry mint, black cumin seeds and cook for another 5-10 mins.
