
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – soya chunks
• 2 tbsp – Vinegar
• 1 tbsp – soya sauce
• 2 tsp – Sugar
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 2 tsp – ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• Extra oil for grilling
• salt to taste
• For Sweet-Sour sauce:
• 1 cup – Tomato ketchup
• 2 tbsp – Sugar
• 2tbsp – Lemon juice
• 1/2 tsp – Cinnamon powder
• 2 slices – Ginger
Method:
- Soak soya chunks in very hot water for 20 minutes. Drain, rinse with cold water and gently squeeze out the excess water.
- Combine ginger-garlic paste, soya sauce, vinegar, sugar and chilli powder and mix with the soya chunks. Leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
- Thread the chunks on bamboo skewers.
- Grease, heat a thick griddle and place the skewers on it.
- Brush the chunks with oil.
- When one side turns brown, turn the skewers and grease the other side of chunks.
- Remove the skewers from fire when they turn brown.
- Slowly, turn the chunks to loosen them from the skewer and slide them out.
- For sweet-sour sauce:
- Combine tomato ketchup, sugar, lemon juice, ginger, cinnamon powder and simmer till it thickens.
- Discard the ginger.
- Pour the sauce over soya chunks and serve hot.
