Ingredients:

• 3 – Onions cut in strips
• 1.5 cup – gram flour
• 1 tbsp – Wheat flour
• 6 to 7 – green chillies, finely chopped
• 1/4 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – ajwain seeds
• 2 tbsp – hot oil
• salt to taste
• pinch of Hing
• oil to deep fry

Method:

  1. Sprinkle salt over onion in a wide bowl. Keep aside for 15-20 mins.
  2. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Do not add more water.
  3. The water that oozes out while onion is being marinated is enough. Mix well.
  4. Heat oil. Drop small lumps of mixture gently into the hot oil.
  5. Deep-fry on medium heat till golden brown.
  6. Drain on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
