Ingredients:

• 1/2 lb – salmon fillet (cut lengthwise into 2.5 inch strips lengthwise; leave the skin on one side)
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – cumin powder
• 1/2 tsp – ginger-garlic paste
• 1 tsp – Lemon juice or Tamarind paste
• salt to taste
• oil

Method:

  1. In a flat bowl, mix all the ingredients except the salmon fillet and oil.
  2. Slide in the fish pieces in the mixture and coat the pieces well.
  3. Marinade the fish for 15-30 minutes in a refrigerator.
  4. Set the oven at 350 degrees Celsius.
  5. Cut several pieces of aluminium foil (5 inch by 5 inch) and spray oil on them.
  6. Place the marinated salmon pieces at the centre of the foils (skin side down). Pick two opposite sides of the foils and fold them three times creating a nice little pocket.
  7. Repeat the procedure with the other two sides. Make sure you leave enough space to allow the fish to cook in its own steam.
  8. Once the oven is preheated, place the fish evenly in an oven-safe baking dish and cook for 15 minutes.
  9. Turn off the oven and let the fish stay for another 2-3 minutes so that the flavours blend.
  10. Serve hot with rice and any side dish.
