Ingredients:

• 1 cup – basmati Rice
• 1 tsp – Channa dal
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Peanuts
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – Fenugreek seeds
• 1 tsp – Coriander seeds
• 1 – Lemon
• Sliced Green chillies
• Chopped Ginger – 1 inch piece
• Curry leaves – a few
• A few – Dried red chillies
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Roast and grind the coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds and red chillies.
  2. Cook basmati rice in a cooker with little oil and keep it aside.
  3. Let it cool.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard and add channa dal and peanuts to it.
  5. When the channa dal turns red in colour, add ginger and chillies to it.
  6. Now add the ground ingredients to it.
  7. Squeeze the lemon and add salt and turmeric to it.
  8. Mix it well.
  9. Turn off the flame and add the rice.
  10. Mix everything well and serve garnished with curry leaves.
