Ingredients:

• 1 – Puff pastry
• Few strawberries, chopped
• For pastry cream:
• 1 cup – Milk
• 1 tsp – Vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 2 – eggs
• 2 tbsp – Corn flour
• 1 tbsp – Butter

Method:

  1. Bring the milk to boil.
  2. Meanwhile beat the egg, sugar, salt and flour together.
  3. While whisking, add half of the hot milk slowly* and start whisking immediately.
  4. Add this egg mixture to the remaining hot milk.
  5. Cook the milk and egg mixture, on a low flame and whisk it continuously, until the mixture starts to boil.
  6. Reduce the heat further and cook until it gets thickened.
  7. Add the butter, vanilla extract and mix well.
  8. Turn off the heat, keep covered and let it cool.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350F, arrange the pastry sheet in a baking tray and place an aluminium foil inside the pastry sheet and spread the dry peas equally.
  10. Blind bake the pastry sheet in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until it turns brown. Remove peas.
  11. With a cookie cutter, cut the pastry sheet as medium sized circles.
  12. Put the pastry cream in a pastry bag; gently pipe it down onto the Bake sheets.
  13. Gently arrange the chopped strawberry chunks and serve.
