Ingredients:
• 300 g – Surakkai (bottle gourd)
• 2 cups – Idle Rice
• 1/2 cup – Toor Dal
• 1/4 cup – Moong dal
• 3-4 – Red Chillies
• 3-4 – Cloves of Garlic
• 1/2 tsp – Asafoetida
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• Salt
• 2-3 – Onions
• Curry leaves
Method:
- Soak rice and dal for 2-3 hours.
- Grate and grind the bottle gourd.
- Add the soaked rice, dal, red chilli, salt, large cumin seeds, garlic and grind coarsely.
- Season with mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida, curry leaves and onions.
- This can be made into dosa-like adais. No fermentation is required.
- Pour out a ladleful and spread out like dosas.
- Serve with sambhar and chutney.
