Ingredients:
• 2 cup – raw Rice
• 1 cup – thick Poha
• 1 cup – grated Coconut
• 1/2 cup – Jaggery powder
• 1 cup – Milk
• 2 tbsp – curds
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• 2 tbsp – Raisins
• 2 tbsp – cashew nuts, chopped
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
Method:
- Wash and soak rice in water for 2 hours. Soak poha for 15-20 mins.
- Drain the rice from water. Grind with poha, coconut and milk to a slightly coarse consistency, like idli batter.
- Add jaggery, salt and grind till jaggery is dissolved (do not add much water as the batter becomes thin when jaggery is added).
- Cover and leave to ferment over night.
- Next morning, mix in the raisins, cashewnuts and cardamom.
- Steam like idlis. Serve hot with melted ghee.
