Ingredients:
• 1 cup – raw Rice
• 1 cup – grated Jaggery
• 2 tsp – moong dal
• 5 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 5 tsp – grated Coconut
Method:
- Soak rice in water for 30 mins; drain water and grind it to a powder in a mixer. Heat the pan and fry the rice flour till it turns red in colour and keep aside. Dry fry the moong dal in a pan till it gives out a good aroma.
- Add water to cook the dal and allow it to cook for 5 mins.
- After 5 mins, add 2 cups of water and add grated jaggery and stir it well till the jaggery dissolves in water.
- Now add the roasted rice flour and mix it evenly.
- At last add cardamom powder, grated coconut and stir well.
- Allow the mixture to cool and then press into desired shapes (or as shown in the picture).
- Steam cook the dough in an idli maker.
