Ingredients:

• 2-3 – tomatoes.
• 5-6 Cloves – Garlic
• 2 tbsp – chopped Onions
• Coriander leaves
• 2 tsp – rasam powder
• Mustard Seeds
• Cumin seeds
• Crushed pepper
• 1 tbsp – Tamarind Powder

Method:

  1. Boil the tomatoes in the microwave till very soft (for 6-7 mins). Allow to cool.
  2. Peel off skin and add some water and smash well.
  3. Extract only the tomato juice, leaving just the pulp behind.
  4. Try to extract as much juice as possible.
  5. Heat 3-4 spoons of butter in a pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, crushed pepper, chopped garlic and onions.
  6. Fry till soft.
  7. Now add the tomato juice.
  8. Add rasam powder, tamarind powder and salt.
  9. Allow to boil.
  10. Finally, add chopped coriander and remove from flame.
  11. Serve with hot rice and pappads.
  12. Or can also be served as an appetizer.
