
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Urad dhal/split black gram dhal
• 2 – Potatoes, peeled and cut into medium size pieces
• 2 tsp – Chilly powder
• 1 tsp – Cumin powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• Salt to taste
• 2 – Onions chopped
• 8-10- Curry leaves
• 2 tbsp – Oil.
Method:
- Wash the urad dal and pressure cook with the potatoes, 2 cups water, and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder until soft.
- Heat oil in a pan, saute the onions and curry leaves till golden brown.
- Add the cooked urad dal and potatoes, chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt and stir well.
- Cook for a 2-3 minutes.
- Serve as a side dish with rice or rotis.
