Ingredients:

• 1 litre Milk
• 3/4 cup coarse Wheat germ
• 1 cup water
• 1/2 cup Sugar
• 1 tsp each slivered Almonds and Pistachios
• 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
• 1 drop kewra essence (optional)

Method:

  1. Heat water in a large vessel and bring to a boil.
  2. Add wheat germ, stirring occasionally.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes and add hot milk.
  4. Bring back to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Boil till wheat germ is cooked.
  6. Add sugar, stir to dissolve and allow kheer to thicken a bit.
  7. Add all other ingredients and simmer for 2-3 minutes more.
  8. Serve piping hot.
