Ingredients:

• 300 gm – Pumpkin
• 4 cup – Channa dal
• Turmeric powder – a pinch
• 1/2 tsp – salt
• For seasoning:
• 1 tsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – mustard
• For Grinding
• 2 tbsp Coconut gratings
• 2 – Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 1 tsp – Rice

Method:

  1. Cook channa dal in pressure cooker till soft.
  2. Cut the pumpkin pieces into medium bite size pieces and cook in a heavy bottomed vessel.
  3. Add salt and turmeric powder and enough water.
  4. Cook on medium flame till soft. Then add cooked dhal.
  5. Meanwhile grind the coconut gratings along with red chillies, cumin and rice to a paste.
  6. Add this to the cooked pumpkin and mix well.
  7. Season it with mustard seeds, channa dal and curry leaves.
