Ingredients:
• 1 cup – whole Wheat flour
• 1 cup – all-purpose flour
• 2 tbsp – Wheat bran
• 1/4 cup – low fat Milk powder
•
Method:
- In a bowl, mix the flours, wheat bran, milk powder, confectioner’s sugar, sugar pearls (keep aside some for topping) and butter.
- Mix the yeast, sugar and salt in half a cup of lukewarm water and keep aside for few minutes until the yeast turns foamy.
- Gradually add the yeast to the prepared flour mixture (add water if needed) and knead into a soft, smooth dough.
- Keep aside in a warm place for two hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Once the dough doubles in volume, punch down and knead well for few minutes.
- Make 6-8 medium sized balls from the dough and arrange them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
- Brush the buns with milk and sprinkle generously with sugar pearls.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
- Enjoy for breakfast or as snacks with your favourite spread or jams.
