Ingredients:
• 50g – Channa dal
• 1 cup – water
• 1/4 cup – extra water
• 1 tbsp – Ghee
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 2 – Cloves
• 1 – Cinnamon stick
• 2 – Cardamoms
• 2 – Green chillies
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/2 tsp – salt
Method:
- Wash and soak channa dal in 1 cup of water for 6 hours.
- Heat ghee in a pressure cooker. Add bay leaf, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon to it. Fry on low heat until it is fragrant.
- Add green chillies and turmeric powder to it. Saute for 1- 2 minutes till the raw smell disappears.
- Add soaked channa dal along with water and add extra 50 ml of water. Add salt to taste.
- Close the cooker. Bring it to full pressure on high heat. Reduce heat to low and cook for 6 minutes.
- Remove cooker from heat. Allow it to cool. Serve channa dal with pulao.
