Ingredients:

• ½ cup moong daal (soaked overnight and boiled in salted water)
• ½ cup bread, cubed and fried
• 100 gms. Tamarind
• 200 gms. Jaggery
• 1 tsp. chilli powder
• ½ cup cumin powder
• ½ cup curd

Method:

  1. Place tamarind, jaggery, cumin powder, chilli powder, salt and 1 cup water and cook till it thickens.
  2. When tamarind is cooked and jaggery is dissolved, remove from fire and strain. The chutney must be thick.
  3. While serving, mix together the boiled moong, fried bread croutons, and curd.
  4. Add tamarind chutney to taste. Croutons must be added only at the time of serving.
