Ingredients:

• 2 cups – lentils
• 2 – large Onions
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 2 tsp – oil
• 1 – Tomato
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1sp – Turmeric powder
• 1 Clove – Garlic

Method:

  1. Boil the lentils in pressure cooker for about 10 mins (3 whistles at the most).
  2. Heat oil in a kadai, roast cumin until it turns brown
  3. Add onions and garlic. Fry until the onions turn brown
  4. Add tomato and fry until the tomato softens
  5. To this, add the cooked dal, chilli powder and turmeric
  6. Simmer for about 5 mins
  7. Serve with rotis or rice
