Ingredients:

• 3 – long green karelas (bitter gourd)
• 3 tbsp – Tamarind paste
• 6 tbsp – dry/fresh coconut-grated
• 2 tbsp – sambar masala powder
• 1 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 2 tbsp – sesame(til)seeds
• salt as per taste
• 5 tbsp – oil
• 5 cups – water

Method:

  1. Boil water with salt and tamarind paste.
  2. Slit karela and add to boiling water.
  3. Cook for 15 mins. Remove seeds from karelas.
  4. Mix grated coconut, sambar powder, chilli powder and til.
  5. Stuff this mixture in karelas.
  6. Take oil in frying pan.
  7. Place karelas and cook for another 5 minutes.
  8. Bharwa karelas are ready. Serve with rotis.
