
Ingredients:
• 2 cup – green mango, peeled and chopped
• 1 cup – Pineapple pieces
• 1/2 cup – grated Coconut
• 2 tsp – sesame seeds
• 1/4 tsp – Fenugreek
• 6 to 8 dry Red Chillies
• 2 tsp – black gram (Urad) Dal
• 2 tsp – Bengal Gram (Chana) Dal
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 tbsp – Jaggery powder
• salt to taste
• For seasoning:
• 3 to 4 dry red chillies, broken into pieces
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – black gram (Urad) Dal
• few Curry leaves
Method:
- Add 2 cups of water to mango pieces and cook till soft. Cool and blend briefly in a mixer.
- Roast all the ingredients from sesame seeds to Bengal gram Dal in 1 tsp of oil. Cool and grind with grated coconut to a smooth paste.
- Heat the mashed green mango. Add pineapple and 1 more cup of water.
- Add turmeric, salt and jaggery. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add the ground paste and simmer for 2 more minutes and remove from fire.
- Heat the oil for seasoning in a small fry pan.
- Add mustard when it splutters, add black gram Dal.
- When it turns golden brown, add chillies.
- Fry for few seconds. Add curry leaves.
- Add this seasoning to the curry and mix well.
