Ingredients:

• 2 large – pomfrets.
• 2 tsp – salt.
• Banana leaves.
• 1 – lemon| For the chutney:
• 1 fresh – coconut.
• 1 cup – chopped kothmir.
• 8 – green chillies.
• 1 tsp – Jeera seeds.
• 6 large Cloves – garlic.
• 2 tsp – sugar.
• 1 tsp – salt.
• 2 tsp – Lemon juice.

Method:

  1. Grind all the ingredients for the chutney.
  2. Rub salt and lime into fish.
  3. Coat each slice with chutney.
  4. Rub a little oil on the inside of the banana leaf.
  5. Wrap each slice in a leaf and tie it with a cotton string.
  6. Place the fish pieces on a vessel with holes at the bottom, over a vessel with boiling water and allow it to steam for about 10 mins.
