Ingredients:

• 1.5 cups – all purpose flour
• 1/4 cup – shortening
• 1/2 cup – Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1 – Egg
• 2 tsp – baking powder
• 1/4 tsp – salt
• For nutty layer:
• 2 tbsp – Flour
• 2 tbsp – melted Butter
• 1/2 cup – Brown sugar
• 1/2 cup – chopped Walnuts
• 1.5 tsps – Cinnamon powder

Method:

  1. For Batter:
  2. Sift flour into a bowl and add shortening, and mix till the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
  3. Lightly beat eggs and blend with milk.
  4. Add to flour mixture and stir until moistened.
  5. For Nutty Layer:
  6. Combine flour, butter, brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon powder.
  7. In greased muffin pans spoon alternate layers of batter and nutty mixture until pans are 2/3 full.
  8. Bake in a moderate oven at 190 degree Celsius for 20 mins.
