Ingredients:
• 1 – whole chicken, cut into 8-10 small pieces
• 1/2 cup – plain yogurt
• 3 – Green chillies
• 1/4 bunch – Coriander leaves
• 1.5 inch – Ginger
• 1 – Large Onion
• Red Chilli flakes or whole chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumins Powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 2 cups – Cooked Rice
• salt to taste
Method:
- Make a paste of green chillies, ginger, and coriander using a blender.
- Add the paste to 1/2 cup of yogurt and mix well. Add salt to taste.
- Add the well cleaned chicken to the yogurt, mix and keep in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours (for best results, marinate the chicken overnight).
- Heat oil and add finely chopped onions. Once the onions turn golden brown, add the dried red chillies (flakes or crushed whole chillies), turmeric and the cumin powder. Cook for 2 mins.
- Add the marinated chicken and cook for 30-40 mins. Stir periodically to ensure that the chicken does not burn.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add the rice and mix well. Add salt if required.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
